Why Do Affiliate Marketers Need a Funnel and a Domain?

You might be asking yourself why you need to build a funnel and why you need a domain. Why can’t you just get your affiliate link and post it everywhere to make commissions?

Well, it’s not that simple. Most places where you can promote your affiliate links don’t allow you to post them directly. That’s why you need to create a funnel to have links that you can put in places where people are interested in those products.

Another reason why you need a funnel is to capture leads. If you send people directly to the product’s sales page, you lose out on getting their information, and you can’t remarket to them or promote other products to them down the road. That’s why you need to capture their email, and you need a funnel to do that.

Finally, a funnel allows you to send your leads through a journey, where you can build a connection with them, explain what the product is, and build trust. This is necessary to lead to a sale eventually.

The Importance of Split Testing in Clickfunnels for Affiliate Marketers

Split testing, also known as A/B testing, is an important tool for any business looking to optimize its online presence. It can help you determine which design elements, messaging, or offers work best with your target audience. In this post, we’ll explore how to set up a split test in your ClickFunnels account and use it to improve your funnel pages.

How ClickFunnels Split Tests Can Improve Your Affiliate Marketing Strategy

Split tests randomly alternate between different pages in your funnel sequence, allowing you to compare the success of each page in a time period. This knowledge can help you design more successful pages in the future. Knowing which design, messaging, or offer is more successful can help you create a better campaign and grow your skills.

How to Create a Split Test in ClickFunnels

To create a split test in ClickFunnels, you’ll need an active account, a domain verified with your account, and at least two pages created in your ClickFunnels account.

Follow these steps to create a split test:

  • Click “Sites” and “Funnels” on the main menu.
  • On the sub-menu, look for “URL Redirects.”
  • After clicking “URL Redirects,” you will be directed to the URL redirect page, where the system will display all of your existing URL redirects.
  • To create a new URL redirect, click the “New URL Redirect” button on the upper right corner of your screen.
  • Fill out the name field to create a name for your new split test for your own tracking purposes. Visitors won’t see this name, so you can put whatever nickname you want here.
  • Select the original path and the URL you wish to redirect within your domain. Traffic going to this path will be redirected to your target URL and the split test URL.
  • Fill out the target URL to specify where you want to send visitors. Include the full URL here, including the HTTP or HTTPS. Traffic will be redirected to this URL in your second URL.
  • Fill out the second URL to specify the second URL that will receive split test viewers. Traffic will be redirected to this URL and your target URL.
  • Choose a split test percentage for the amount of traffic you wish to go to the second URL. If you want an even split, just select 50%. This will evenly split the traffic.
  • After completing your settings for this split test, click on the black button “Mark Create URL Redirect.”

Congratulations! You’ve now created the split test in your ClickFunnels account.

How to Analyze Your Split Test Results

Once you’ve set up your split test, you can use the page stat tools to check the traffic on each page during your split test. This will let you compare the success of each page. For a balanced sample, we strongly recommend allowing the split test to run for at least one calendar month.

Broadcasts

Broadcasts are one-off emails that you can send out to your audience. With ClickFunnels, you can create a new broadcast, select an email template, and use the email editor to customize your message. You can also add topics to your broadcast to help your subscribers find relevant content.

Email Templates

ClickFunnels offers a variety of email templates that you can use to create professional-looking emails quickly and easily. You can choose from different categories of templates, including product launch emails, webinar emails, and more.

Countdown Timers

Countdown timers are a powerful marketing tool that can help you create urgency and increase conversions. With ClickFunnels, you can create countdown timers and add them to your pages and emails.

Marketing Settings

In the marketing settings section of ClickFunnels, you can edit your marketing contact address, your unsubscribed footer, and your company email address. You can also hide the “Powered by ClickFunnels” badge on your site pages.

Topics

Topics are categories used to group content for your customers and help them find relevant content. With ClickFunnels, you can create new topics and give them descriptions to use for your emails. Your contacts can also unsubscribe from specific topics if they choose.

Broadcast Overview

So, let’s go ahead and head over to the broadcast section to show that off. Here, we have draft broadcasts, scheduled broadcasts, and sent broadcasts. You can segment them, search for your broadcasts, and alternatively, sort them here.

Let’s go ahead and create a broadcast here. It gives us email templates we can use. There are categories here for email templates, but you can select anyone. Once you select a template, it will open up the email editor.

Email Editor

Here we have content we can add to our emails. We have rows that we can click and drag over to use in our email, and we also have settings to further customize the look and feel of our email. If we click this “layout” button, it’ll give us a template we can save as a template, switch our template, and then we can also preview our email. Finally, we can save and exit.

Once we save and exit our broadcast, it will give us the ability to add a broadcast name, add our topics here if we wanted to add topics to our broadcast, and we can also add multiple topics if we like.

Audiences

Then we have our audience. New to 2.0, we have audiences, so we no longer send out lists. If we click on “audience,” you will see that the new audience feature works off of rules, so it will include contacts that meet this set of rules. So if I wanted to say “include contacts that enrolled in my course and opted in on my funnel step,” then it would include those contacts. Alternatively, I can add an “or” rule, so I could say “Include these contacts or include someone that bought my product” and we could save that there.

Subject Lines

We have our subject line, so we will give our subject line in the email. We have our pre-header, which is the text following the subject line when an email is previewed, and we alternately also have to send options.

Scheduling Broadcast

You can send an email out immediately, so as soon as you set this to go, it will send. We can also choose “later,” so if we choose later, it gives us a send date, we can choose tomorrow and apply, we can choose a send time, and we also have the option to utilize different time zones.

If we click on the given drop-down, you will see it will send in our workspace’s local time, it can send in our customer’s time or another specific time that we choose here. Then we can go ahead and save it as a draft, discard it, or we can schedule the broadcast. After you click “schedule broadcast,” it will bring up this window to review your email. You can then click “schedule,” and it will give you a prompt here to say we will get that sent out at your specific time zone.

Finally, you can go ahead and save that as a template and create another broadcast or go to your broadcast index. So, that’s a brief overview of email marketing within your ClickFunnels 2.0 account.
